To establish themselves as a market leader, Apply Technologies required a new identity and website.

Brief

Apply Technologies (formerly ApplyEquip) is a Ghanaian company providing integrated technology solutions and services to clients in Ghana. Since the law in Ghana prohibits foreign companies from operating in the region without a joint venture or through a local company, Apply bridges the gap. Their objective is to be the conduit between companies and technologies outside Ghana (primarily located in Norway) and the Operators within Ghana. To achieve their vision of becoming a leading player for the Ghanaian market, Apply recognized the need for a complete rebrand.
Approach

We began with a discovery session with the Apply team to understand their business, ambitions, service offering and value. There were three primary takeaways:

  • Strengthen their visual identity
  • Improve their online presence
  • Enhance communication with international markets

From this session, we identified the need for a critical change – the company name. ApplyEquip represented a division of their business and failed to reflect the company’s broader range of services. The decision was made to rename the company Apply Technologies, better aligning with their ambitions and service offerings.

The new name required a new visual identity. Using a cleaner font, and incorporating iconography, we created a fresh and more mature logo. This provided the foundation for a full suite of branding materials, including brand guidelines, and templates for business cards, letterheads and email signatures. Apply requested a colour palette inspired by the marine environment, which we incorporated into the design to reflect their offshore energy connections.

Equally important was refining the company’s messaging. We wanted to ensure that the company clearly communicated their core services, with a particular focus on emphasizing their value to international companies looking to enter Ghana’s energy markets. This involved developing a new core tagline and value statement.

The rebrand culminated in the design and development of a new website. Following the creation of a sitemap and structure, we developed fresh, engaging copy to align with the new messaging. The website design focusing on modernity and simplicity, leveraging imagery and video to showcase Apply’s offshore expertise and services.

Outcome

Farewell ApplyEquip, hello Apply Technologies! Armed with a new identity and website, the company is now primed to achieve its ambitious growth plans.

Key outcomes include:

  • Evolved messaging which clearly communicates their value offering: ‘Connecting leading international players to Ghana’s energy industry through credible partnerships.’
  • A modern, user-friendly website featuring marine-inspired colours and design elements.

Delivery of:

The new website is easy to navigate, and clearly outlines their services and areas of expertise. Featuring subtle design elements, vivid imagery and a marine colour palette, the website now reflects how they see themselves as a company.

With this update, Apply Technologies now have a brand which enables them to strengthen their presence in Ghana and attract further opportunities with international partners.
